6-week beginners course.

At my relaxed and fun sewing course you will learn at your own pace while working on a project of your own choice. The classes are very small, never more than 4 students, which allows me lots of one-to-one time with everyone.

At the first class I will help you choose a good beginners project and a suitable fabric to work with during the course. So you don't need to bring anything for the first class of the course. But do have a look around for patterns to give you an idea of what kind of garment you would like to make.

Have a look around for a pattern you might like to make, choose something for a beginner level, the less pieces there are the easier it is. (for example, no pockets, collar or sleeves makes it easier.) Remember, you do not need to bring a pattern or fabric to the first class so I can help you choose something suitable then.

Have a look at 'Tilly and the buttons' & 'Sew over it' for some pattern inspirations or head over to pinterst for some great sewing inspiration.

In 6 weeks you will:

*Learn how to thread the machine and about its parts.

*Learn about different seams and stitches

*Learn about seam finishings and stay stitching

*Learn how to do a zip, buttonhole and to hand stitch on a button.

*Learn how to do gathers, pleats and darts.

*Learn how to read and understand sewing pattern. (both commercial and independent ones)

*Learn how to choose the right fabric for your project.

*Make a garment from a pattern.

*And so many, many more things.

I have all tools you will need for the course and sewing machines that you can borrow for the course. If you want to bring your own sewing machine you are more than welcome. You just have to buy your own fabric for your project. You don't need this for the first class and I will teach you how to choose the right fabric for your project at the first lesson.
